The Company History

JC Gardens & Climbing Frames is an independent company specialising in the design and construction of bespoke sustainable wooden climbing frames and play areas for children.  Set up over ten years ago by Julian Cochrane, today he leads a skilled and established team who design and construct stunning climbing frames up and down the country to the delight of both children and adults alike.  

Each climbing frame is always custom made to order by hand and ranges from standard tower frames and tree houses to fantastical designs such as pirate ships and castles.  For those simply looking to enhance existing outside space,  you can also choose from our online shop a creative range of hand made wooden toys including rocking chickens, wooden tree swings and see saws for young children to zip wires and scramble nets for older children.

Julian also combines his passion for plants and has spent many years in garden design and brings this into the designs he produces.  Julian has also exhibitied at the Chelsea Flower Show on numerous occasions over the years winning awards for his designs.   With Julians creativity  JC Gardens can transform even the smallest of garden spaces into an exciting and innovative area for kids and adults alike.

Clients include schools and parks as well as private gardens and each client is offered an entirely personalised service from the initial design consultation to the construction and completion of the frame itself. JC Gardens are unique in that they maintain every aspect of the design or build of your playground and never sub contract any part of the job to ensure not only their high levels of quality are maintained but that the process from start to finish for the client is seamless.  

All climbing frames are constructed using the finish British wood by hand in their Battersea workshop before being erected onsite using traditional building methods, resulting in a play area that will last a lifetime.
